Decorating for Christmas

Last weekend we decorated for Christmas. While we put up the tree and bent all the branches in place (which takes forever!!), the girls watched the classic Rudolph movie. We never decorate this early (I'm a scrooge about this) but we're traveling for Thanksgiving and Jason has to work the next weekend. So... we get to enjoy for a little longer this year.

Mariah has been working on a set of 6 verses for A.W.A.N.A. We are thankful that they have minds and hearts to penetrate the scriptures. God is good!

Family night campout

Friday night we had family night. First, we went to the new shopping center's festival for Christmas. We were able to ride a horse and carriage, get faces painted, and see Reindeer on stilts and elves dancing! The center was beautifully decorated, and it was a great way to start off the Christmas season! (of course, I forgot my camera) After walking around in the cold, we came back to the house to have hot apple cider and S'mores. We wanted to go camping, but decided that to pitch the tent in the family room would be much easier. We told scary stories by flashlight and slept together in the tent! We had a great time and the girls thought this was really cool!

The girls got new dresses and were looking...well, like twins. They don't dress alike much anymore, but today they both wanted to wear the new item.

Trick or Treat

Mamaw made their costumes this year. They both wanted to be "Little House on the Prairie" girls. Mamaw did a great job making them and the girls were so proud!

We went to Louisville for Halloween this year. The girls had a great time trick or treating with their cousins! Jason and I went to a Family Life conference~ "A Weekend to Remember," while Mamaw and Papaw watched the kids (and the dog) for us. Thank you Mom and Dad!
