Connor Prairie
Yesterday we went to a place called Connor Prairie. It is a living history museum from the 1800s. You can walk around the homestead of a man named William Connor and see lots of neat things from that time period. The girls thought that the town was like "Little House on the Prairie," one of their favorite series. They were able to be a "farm hand" and water plants, hoe the garden, feed and groom the animals.. etc. We also attended school while we were there, in a one room school house where the word "computer" means: "one who computes, such as in a math problem" and where the paper was a chalk slate. It is very interesting to see what life was like then, and all the work that went in to just taking care of daily needs.
